A Look Back at Our Brand-New Annual Event

What a day! INSIGHTS by Omnium became everything we hoped for, and more. A gathering of 300+ people, engaging talks, and a charged, energetic vibe. We’re truly overwhelmed by all the amazing feedback we’ve received — it means so much to us. Our small team couldn’t be prouder, more humbled, or more excited to see it come to life. 

Opening Speakers

Petter Balstad, CEO of Omnium

Petter started off by sharing Omnium’s journey, from the early basement days at Skøyen in 2017 to where we are today. He also spoke about our take on the future of commerce, and how we aim to stay the best choice for omnichannel retailers.

 

Eivind Lærum, Product Manager at Omnium

Eivind then took the audience through the evolution of our product, reflecting on how Omnium has grown since its early beginnings in 2017. He highlighted the platform as it stands today, a modern, flexible, and truly omnichannel order management system. He then outlined the product vision and roadmap for the coming years. Key focus areas include strengthening our core OMS capabilities even further, elevating customer service tools, enabling Agent-Driven Commerce, and introducing our new Store Assistant App to support efficient in-store operations. Omnium continues to grow with our customers, scaling with our ambitions today, and preparing our customers for the commerce landscape of tomorrow.

🏗️ Mestergruppen – Brede Bryn Schreier, Product Manager OmniDig

With 20 brands and 50 billion NOK in revenue, they showed how Omnium acts as the central hub connecting ERP, MDM, and customer journeys across B2C, B2B, and project sales.
Their focus on data quality and integration has unlocked speed, scalability, and innovation; including their impressive Steddy concept powered by Omnium’s Project Module.

 

⚡ Power – Even Rognan Lutnæs, CTO

With 270 stores across 4 markets, Power shared how implementing Omnium OMS is key to replacing their POS and enabling true omnichannel operations.
Unified data, streamlined order processes, and open APIs will lay the foundation for their next step;  AI-driven efficiency and customer experience.

 

🐕 Jaktia – Alexander Knutsson, CDO

143 stores in 4 markets, and about to launch their full omnichannel setup with Omnium OMS and a new POS.
They highlighted how strong data, involvement, and change management drive transformation, even with limited resources. And yes, they’re selling weapons online, fully integrated with the police authorities!

 

🐰 Sprell – Christian Sogn Iversen, CEO Sprell & Didde Christensen, CTO Karbon Invest

A beloved concept with 28 stores in 2 markets; Sprell shared how unified commerce powered by Omnium has simplified operations and strengthened customer experience.
Their advice? Start with people, involve them early, and never underestimate culture. “Don’t think you’re so special, go back to your processes and let them define what systems should do.”

Nordic Retail Outlook

📊 Runar Wiksnes (Virke) and Per Ljungberg (Svensk Handel)

Unpacked the current state of Nordic retail: After years of pressure, the winners will be those mastering efficiency, logistics, and data-driven decisions — while building brands that truly mean something.

Panel Discussion

🗣️ Øyvind Bustnes (Varner Group), Anders Fjeld (Sport Holding), Pål Wibe (Investor, ex-XXL & Europris), and Per Ljungberg (Svensk Handel), moderated by Runar Wiksnes (Virke)

The panel discussed how retailers can meet growing customer expectations while balancing innovation with operational excellence. Key points included investing in technology, empowering store employees, and using AI as a practical tool rather than hype. Omnichannel was highlighted as essential for transforming both physical and digital customer experiences. Strong data, smart investments, and continuous innovation were emphasized as critical for staying ahead in Nordic retail.

Breakout Sessions

💡 Omnium Deep Dive

A closer look at Omnium’s role as a central hub for commerce, enabling speed of change and flexibility across systems. Eivind Lærum showcased OMS 2.0, and discussed the future potential of Agentic AI in retail with Per Magne Skuseth, CTO of Omnium.

One of our solution partners, NoA Ignite, highlighted Omnium as a flexible integration hub for omnichannel, multisite, and B2B — tech-agnostic and built for inspiration, transactions, and productivity.

Magnus Helland, Senior Developer in Omnium, explored how to ensure successful projects.

 

🤖 Business Track

Organized by Columbus, Oslo Handelsstands Forening, and Springboard Martech as part of Fremtidens Varehandel, this session explored how AI is already transforming retail today. We heard from NHO, Sunkost, and Vita about real-world initiatives, from chatbots supporting employees and customers, to rethinking entire technical platforms to deliver smarter, more seamless omnichannel experiences.

INSIGHTS Awards

We ended the day with our very first Omnium Awards, celebrating the incredible people at our customers and partners who drive innovation, collaboration, and real results with Omnium OMS every day.

For an exceptional OMS and e-commerce project: Eventyrsport as an ambitious, forward-thinking customer and Vertica for rapid mastery of the Omnium platform and consistently strong delivery.

Evening Celebration

The evening came alive at Coyo with dinner, drinks, and great vibes, complete with saxophone and samba dancers 🔥🎷🍹
