Words from the CTO
Per Magne Skuseth has shared some exciting highlights of our development team's projects this winter
As Oslo faced one of its chilliest winters on record, our development team remained unfazed - no code freezes here, just the warmth of continuous innovation and hotfixes.
As always, we’ve been working hard to improve our product, and our efforts over the past months have led to what I think are some truly impressive results. I won’t mention everything, but here are some highlights I would like to share:
- Given devops some extra love and turbocharged our build and deploy speed by 75%, enabling us to ship out those new features faster than ever
- Improved our overall infrastructure, focusing on service resilience and scalability
- Keeping current: About 99% of our backend code now operates on .NET 8, and our Elasticsearch clusters are powered by the latest and greatest version which operates on “The Fastest Lucene Ever.”
- Slam dunk! Our frontend is now leveraging the latest release of Vue, aka.“Slam Dunk”
- Our upcoming analytics module is well underway to become our new report center on steroids
- Purchase orders management has gotten a major overhaul
- Self-service simplifications - continuous enhancements to our UI to simplify customization and configuration
- Subscription order management and scheduling
- Customizable notification templates for orders, projects and comments
- Scheduled notification setup for expiring payments
- Extended product options with independent pricing and simplified both the API and UI to utilize product options
- A ton of improvements to multiple of our standard integrations
- And of course, we’ve been squashing those occasional bugs
Finally, we’ve been ramping up our routines on how we function as a unit. Our tech department has been getting bigger, and we’ve been focusing with trial, error and coffee on improving planning, prioritization and productivity. This has been challenging, but is now really starting to show some really successful outcomes.
Looking back, it’s been a month of challenges met, goals achieved, and a whole lot of coding magic.
